How exciting! Your photoshoot is now booked and I can’t wait to capture your family! A last step before we meet: lets organise your outfits.
It does play an important part to the general look of our images.
Clothes Recommendations Info Pack for your Family session
The number one rule is to avoid large LOGOS, loud and busy patterns.
(Discreet pattern on a dress is totally fine for example).
Second rule is about tones coordination: we have 2 options here.
1) You decide to go for light colours tones (whites/beige/creams/pastels colours). The colour of each outfit can be a bit different of course, as long as they stay light and we say a big NO NO to anything black! The advantage of whites and cream is it gives a fresh feeling to your photos. But if you rarely wear light colours, then take the second option, it will stay close to who you are.
2) You decide to go with darker tones: (and you can because where I shoot there is usually trees and greenery/rocks etc so darker tones can look great) then we need to avoid black as well (I know, it’s tough, I wear a lot of black myself!) but we aim for Jewel tones: these are colours and tones derived from gemstones such as Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald. (Green forest, Raisin, Plum, Bordeaux, Golden, Taupe, Rust, Midnight purple, Navy Blue, Moss..) these will look beautiful!
About shoes: We are outside on the sand or in a park, on the grass, so something easy to walk with and something easy to take off. Bare feet is a great option. I eventually might make you step into the water. If it’s cold of course you can take a scarf, a blanket to wrap baby in, respecting the same colour tones that you chose.
Hair: as you prefer, but I need to be able to see your eyes. I say this for little girls who run everywhere as sometimes it is easier for me to capture them if they don’t have their hair covering their face all the time.
If you have any question, of course don’t hesitate to ask me! You can also send me a photo of the outfits together laying down on the bed and I will give you my opinion, a lot of my clients do it. Can’t wait to make the magic happen for your family!
